Welcome

I was born in Vinnitsa, Ukraine on November, 18th in 1981. My mum told me it was snowing hard on that day. I lived in Vinnitsa till I was 19 and then I left for the monastery. I still don't know why I felt so strongly, that it was my vocation. I left the letter for my parents on a table, took some of my things with me and went to Zhytomir, where the monastery was situated. I am a catholic, but I am not a fanatic. At first I liked it there, though it was difficult to lead that way of life. In the meanwhile I continued my studying as an extramural student. I was allowed to leave the monastery only if I needed to go to the hospital or to go to the university three times a year. A year passed and I understood that I wouldn't be able to spend all of my life in a cloister, contacting only with the nuns, keeping silent for most of the day. But I had enough time to think over my past. Next year I spent in Ternopil living with the missionary sisters from Poland and was going to move to Poland to continue my formation. But in summer, just 2 months before my departure, I went on a pilgrimage. During that time I met a boy, who liked me and tried to attract my attention. It was romantic, but those relations led to nothing, our lives never intercrossed again. But I understood one very important thing, that I wouldn't be able to remain single forever, I'd like to have a family. I didn't go to Poland, but came back to my parents. They were very happy to see me back. After I had finished the pedagogical university, I went to Kiev to work there as a translator, but the renting payment became more and more expensive, and I came back to Vinnitsa and started working as a teacher. One year passed and in summer my friends and I went to Sheshory for the festival of landart and ethnic music. There I met my future husband. He was from Eastern Ukraine and I was from Central Ukraine. Our tastes differed much, but we couldn't leave one another.
So we went to my parents first, who were rather shocked by his appearances. My parents were rather conservative and Rustam shaved his head and had earings and a short beard. But when they got to know him better, they liked him. And then we went to his parents. On October, 24th , 2007 we got married. And in spring our first son was born. We called him Yegor (George). My husband is from a big city, and I don't like living in big cities. I missed my birthtown, small, green and so cosy. When our son was almost 1 year old, we moved back to my parents. I am so thankful to my husband that he agreed to come to live in Vinnitsa.
Now I am on my maternity leave and may stay on it till Yegorka is 3 years old. And then I'll get back to work. When I have free time I knit, cross-stitch, watch films or indulge in reading or learning some new and interesting stuff in the internet. In a couple of years I hope, we'll be able to travel with Yegorka over Ukraine, for there are still so many places I want to see.
